Being gone for a few years really opens my eyes to the passage of time while I am back here visiting the states. People have died, gotten old, moved on, and it really is clear to see when you are away for big chunks of time like I was. I am planning on coming back to visit once every five months so that I can connect with family and friends more often and not lose touch. I have a local contractor friend who died while I was away and I will never get to talk with him again, which is really sad because we had an argument that I wanted to smooth out between us. He taught me a lot about the HVAC industry and how to repair heaters and air conditioners and I wanted to tell him how much I appreciate everything he did for me over the years, but I will never get to tell him anything now. I guess this teaches me a lesson to not hold grudges with people because you never know when they won’t be around anymore to make things better. Maybe I’ll go visit the local business, where my friend worked, to talk to the other employees about him and get some closure as to why he died so quickly before I had a chance to talk to him. I may buy some HEPA filters from them to support his company and workers instead of buying it online like I was planning on doing. Life has a way of teaching us the hard lessons I guess.

After college I worked abroad for several years. However, I eventually got homesick, particularly during the pandemic. Traveling all over the place for work was nice, but I wanted to go home. My parents were very excited that I had made this decision. My parents were more than willing to let me stay with them for as long as it took for me to find my own home. Plus, my uncle offered me a job as soon as he heard that I was coming back home. It was going to be at his HVAC company. He runs a rather large HVAC company that services both commercial buildings and residential buildings. He offered me a managerial position because he knew that I had a lot of skill in leadership roles. I figured I was up to the task thanks to my experience. After a week to settle in, I got right to work at my uncle’s HVAC business. It’s been quite an experience working for my uncle’s HVAC company. We have really been able to take things to the next level. My uncle wanted to make sure that his customers’ experience was as wonderful as possible. He put me in charge of making sure that customers always give us nice reviews for the HVAC service we provided them. I was always making sure that we were doing everything we could to please the customer, and I was also working with my uncle to make our employees feel as comfortable and supported as possible. It’s been only a year since I’ve worked with my uncle, but our HVAC company now has a 4.8 rating and tons of positive reviews.

I started to get very homesick, and I finally decided to head back home. He runs a rather large HVAC company that deals with commercial and residential projects. He decided to offer me a managerial position because of my resume and skills in this area. It’s true that I assumed several leadership roles throughout my career traveling abroad. After a week of settling in, I started working with my uncle on taking his business to the next level. Ultimately, my uncle put me in charge of both marketing and customer satisfaction. I was in charge of making sure that customers were getting exactly what they wanted from us and that we received nice reviews for the service that we provided them. Eventually, I also worked on making sure that our employees morale was up and that they were being supported as much as possible. Ultimately the fruit of both my and my uncle’s labors paid off, and his business is more successful than ever with excellent reviews from thousands of satisfied customers!
