Sadly, not so long ago a dear friend of mine was admitted to the ICU after purposely taking too much medication.
- She ended up overdosing and her bathroom and had to be taken in my ambulance, she has no immediate family to call so I am listed as her emergency contact.
When I got the emergency call I was actually scared for her and drove as fast through the city as I could to see how she was. They told myself and others summerly that she was still unconscious and that I would have to wait patiently in the outer room until they had an update. I left right from my office job and I was only wearing a skirt and light buttoned top which was horrible because the room was cold cold. Even the Burley medical staff were wearing jackets or light jackets. I asked the receptionist why the temperature was so low and they said that all of the important devices generated so much heat that they needed to keep the indoor temperature down. They said that the air conditioner system even ran during the Winter time in their area of the hospital where it was needed. They recommended that I dress more warmly each day if I was going to be visiting my friend in the coming afternoons. They quietly even said that I should bring a light blanket with me. I simply sat there for many hours, cold, and waiting for news on my friends condition. They finally came together and told myself and others that she was stable and easily recommended that I head home. I was glad to go back to my furnace.
