The HVAC necessities in this region

I have lived in the Middle of the country for the majority of our life.

  • What that means for me, as an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C serviceman, is that I have a huge amount of gas furnace repair calls in the Winter season.

The Winter months tend to get pretty rough out in that part of the country plus that means that they take the “health” of their gas furnace really seriously. When I had been living here, where the Winter seasons are much more moderate, I discovered that oil furnaces were not nearly as popular as they were in the Midwest. In all honesty, heat pumps were almost all I had to work on. I had never actually inspected a heat pump before. Well, I guess that’s not true. Technically, air conditionings are a type of heat pump (except the heat only goes a single direction, plus that is outside of the house). The heat pumps that I’m referring to would help boost the air conditioning plus gas furnace systems with just a single unit. Heat pumps can either pull the warm air out of the house- prefer an air conditioning- or pump warm air in- prefer a gas furnace. Heat pumps are great when it comes to efficiency plus keeping that heating plus cooling bill low, but they don’t get the modern home as moderate as a gas furnace would. However, similar to what I said before, it’s ordinary here so there’s actually no need to have the level of heating that a gas furnace can provide. I have a heat pump in our own home, and I really enjoy it! It makes it so much easier to only worry about a single heating plus cooling unit. I will admit, though, occasionally I do miss the toasty heat of a gas furnace.
