Using a chiller to dehumidify the building

We recently implemented a chiller to help dehumidify the air in the downtown library.

The smell of mold and mildew lingers in the air and everyone was worried about the library resources. Too much humidity can damage textbooks, manuscripts, microfiche, and other periodicals. Too much humidity can affect the priceless pieces of artwork that hang in the lobby of the county library. The building is old and in bad need of renovations. The library has been in that building for more than 100 years and it shows. After talking with a local HVAC company, we decided to employ a chiller to dehumidify the building. The HVAC company installed the industrial chiller a few months ago. It took three days to install the industrial chiller, but it works very well. The chiller uses evaporation and refrigerant to cool the air. Every time air circulates through the chiller, evaporation helps moisture levels drop. This lowers the level of humidity inside the air. All of the new HVAC equipment was terribly expensive, so we are going to hold a fundraiser at the end of next month. We have raffles and silent auctions scheduled. One local resident is going to win a meet and greet with the mayor. Another resident will win dinner for a year from Hungry Harry’s. The library is going to be open all day and we will have several famous authors to sign books for adults and kids. We are hoping for a large turnout from the community. We will also have food trucks in the parking lot and a clown to make balloon animals.
