Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like living in the Wild West. Everybody went around strapped with guns just waiting for somebody to challenge them to a shootout. They rode horses everywhere and they didn’t have fancy technology like heating and cooling systems with advanced temperature control that can be adjusted remotely with our phones. If I were able to time travel back to those times and I tried to explain to somebody how a smart thermostat works, they wouldn’t have a clue of what I was talking about. I have to admire the people of those times though, they were able to come up with wood burning stoves and creative ways to keep cool. With the skills I have these days, I might not have been able to survive during those days. With my luck I would be bitten by a rattlesnake while trying to keep warm next to the outside fireplace. It is exciting to watch different shows depicting those days though. Of course, if I had to pick between which era I wanted to live, I think I would have to continue living this life of mine. I don’t know that I could live without being able to adjust the temperature control settings and having that relaxing air conditioning working in the days of the summer. I guess you could say that I’m mostly spoiled by technology like most other people these days. Back then people didn’t live quite as long without medical advancements today and people even died of heat stroke because they didn’t have air conditioning.
