When the owner of the HVAC company introduced me to the new HVAC technician, I was literally shocked.

I recognized the new guy that was training to be an HVAC technician.

If you have ever watched the news or read the paper, you would know who this guy is. In fact, I went to school with this guy. He is a known criminal, and he just got out of jail for drugs and theft. I could never believe that the owner of the HVAC company was going to hire a known criminal. I didn’t think that it would go well for the HVAC company. I wasn’t afraid for my life or anything, but I figured that it was only a matter of time before the guy stole something from the HVAC company or got fired for doing drugs. However, after a few months, I was shocked that he was still working for the HVAC company. He started his training as an HVAC technician, and he was paired up with me to watch how it was done. I watched him every time that we worked, and I expected him to do something that would get him into trouble. However, I was shocked that nothing happened. After a few years, he finally became an HVAC technician, and he looks like a completely new person. You would have a hard time telling realizing that he was ever a criminal. I thought that the owner of the HVAC company was crazy, but he gave the guy a second chance, and it worked out for him.

As an HVAC technician, I am still just the same as I am at home. I am the kind of person that cannot work if my workspace is not clean. If my desk is not clean at home, I have to clean my desk before I am able to do anything else productive for the day. If my garage is not clean, I have to clean my garage before I can begin fixing something. I do not just stop being myself when I work as an HVAC technician either. When I am working at the HVAC company, I have to make sure that my van is clean. We have a few HVAC technicians in our HVAC company, and we all have our own work van that we use to go to people’s houses. Our work vans contain all of the tools that we need to fix HVAC units. Sometimes, we even carry the parts that we might need as HVAC technicians. Some of the HVAC technicians in our HVAC company are messy people. When I have to help somebody load parts into their van, I cannot believe how messy it is. I can only imagine that it takes them forever to find anything when they have to fix an HVAC unit. In my van, I have everything labored and organized meticulously. I never have trouble finding any tool that I would need to fix an HVAC unit. I also clean my van once a week at the end of the week so that I am ready for the next week fixing HVAC units. This helps me to be organized, and it also saves me time.

Back when I was a kid, I remember my grandma and grandpa used to hide all kinds of things in the air ducts in their house.

I used to think that it was so weird for them to do that, and then my mom explained to me that they had both survived a war where they had to hide food and medicine from enemy soldiers just so that they could survive.

Then it started to make more sense to me. Well, one of the weird things that I noticed one day when I was helping them clean was how they used to put all kinds of money and valuables in their air conditioning ducts. I decided to clean the air vents for them and when I was using a duster in an air vent on their bedroom ceiling, money started falling out of the air vent! I was surprised at first, of course, but then I remembered how they liked to hide things. I told my grandma that I had found a lot of money in the air conditioning ducts and she laughed and said that she wondered where that money had gotten to. She said that we should go around the whole house and check all of the air vents and then we might get rich. I don’t know if she was kidding or not, but I think that when the time comes, we’re going to have a hard time finding all of their money and valuables. It’s probably all going to be stuffed inside their ventilation system somewhere.

Instead of going to college, my daughter has decided to go to a local career center that we have here in town instead.

• At first, I wasn’t too sure about her decision because I always thought that she would want to go to college and follow a more traditional career path.

So when she told us that she thought she might want to go into the heating and cooling business, it was a surprise to me. This fall, she’s probably going to sign up for her first session of HVAC classes and I really hope that she’s going to enjoy them. I think that she will be great at being an HVAC technician once she gets through all of the training and certification classes, but I know that it will probably be hard for her. She has never really been a very hard worker, I have to say. I know that the heating and cooling industry will be a big difference for her because she’s going to have to start getting up early. She will also have to start getting her hands dirty when she’s working on furnaces and air conditioning systems. She’s really not used to getting dirty, and that’s one of the reasons that I was surprised that she wanted to be an HVAC technician. Maybe she just doesn’t realize what all the job entails. I guess she’s about to learn, though! I hope that we aren’t just wasting money on the HVAC classes. More than that, I don’t want her to waste her time on classes that she won’t end up using later on.

Well, the weather is finally cooling down around here and so it’s almost time to turn on the furnace for the first time this year. I always make it a top priority to go downstairs to the furnace room to check everything out before I turn the thermostat over to heating. I learned the hard way a few years ago that there might be things lurking in your furnace system that you don’t really want there! Several years ago when the weather started cooling off in the fall, I decided that the temperature outside was cool enough to warrant my turning on the furnace. I went over to my thermostat unit in the hallway and clicked the switch which changes my HVAC system from air conditioning to heating, but then there was a terrible sound from the furnace room in the basement. This clunking sound was closely followed by some black smoke coming from the heating vents in the floor of the hallway. That’s when I realized that something was very wrong! I ran down to the furnace room in the basement and there was smoke everywhere. I turned on some fans and opened a window and eventually, I figured out what the problem was with the furnace. There was a big rats’ nest built in my electric furnace and I guess whenever I turned it on for the first time that year, I incinerated them. It was disgusting. Now, every year, I make sure to check out the furnace thoroughly before I turn the heating system on for the first time!

I’m really glad that these days, just about everyone has air conditioning. Back when I was growing up, there wasn’t much air conditioning in the stores or homes that I frequented. I remember having to go to work in this feed store in town during the summers and the temperatures were just miserable. It was so hot in that building that you would just pray for a small breeze to blow in so you would have a little bit of ventilation. Of course, the indoor air quality there was terrible, too. I remember making up excuses to walk to the bank down the street just so that I could feel the air conditioning on my skin for a few minutes. I must have gotten change for a dollar from them a million times the summer that I worked there. I remember how great the air conditioning would feel as I walked into the bank’s doors and the A/C was pouring from the air vents in the ceiling above me. These days, I’m happy to say that there is central air conditioning everywhere I go. I don’t have to worry very much about the indoor air quality at my house or my job because I have a great HVAC system and really high quality air filters. It’s nice knowing that I don’t have to worry about dust and dirt flying around in my place of business. Plus, whenever the weather is hot outside, I can just go and turn down the A/C system. I’m so glad that A/C is more widespread now.

I have been living in the North for the longest time. I have pretty much gotten used to the brutal winters and having to rely on my fireplace and gas furnace. Then this past winter, my boss decided to send me down south for a temporary work assignment. I didn’t want to have to do this at first, but I would be making extra money, and I would be able to see what living in the South was like. Well, it actually was pretty nice down south. The weather was absolutely amazing and it was nice not having to deal with all the snow and cold weather for a change. After staying down in the South for a few months, I honestly didn’t want to have to come back to the North. Of course, my work assignment was done so I had no choice but to come back. When I was back up north, my boss was talking to me about how I liked the work assignment. I told him I really enjoyed it and I actually got used to staying down there. I met a lot of good people and I really appreciated the warm weather. He smiled and said he was glad I liked it because he said he had a permanent position down south if I wanted to take it. I was actually happy about it and I didn’t hesitate to tell my boss that I wanted to take the new position! I went back down south and got a really nice home with a powerful cooling system. I also have a fireplace just in case it gets chilly, but I rarely ever use the fireplace.

When my wife and I were looking for a new house, we narrowed our choices down to two places.

There was this one nice house that had radiant heated floors.

The radiant heated floors felt wonderful and we loved this place. The other house was just as good though which had a ductless mini split HVAC system along with a powerful UV air purification system. Both of the houses have four bedrooms and two bathrooms, but it was really coming down to the HVAC systems that we preferred. I was leaning towards the ductless mini split because it has HVAC zone control. You can actually heat and cool the sections of the household that you are using without wasting a ton of money. On the other hand, the radiant heated floors are really comfortable and energy efficient, but there is no HVAC zone control with this heating system. In the end, we came up with a pretty straightforward way to make a decision on which place we would go for. We did a coin toss! Heads would be the radiant heated floors, and tails would be the ductless mini split with the powerful UV air purification system. I was really hoping for tails but the coin landed with heads showing. I can’t really say that I was disappointed because I really do enjoy these radiant heated floors in our new home. I do sometimes wonder though what it would be like living in the other place. Of course, all of my family and friends who have visited our new home absolutely love the radiant heated floors.

My wife and I have been pretty happy together over the years.

• We have fallen into a routine though.

She has her work schedule and I have mine. The thing I love about mine though is that I work from home. Because I work from home, I like to keep things extra comfortable in the house. This is why I decided to enroll in an HVAC service plan. The HVAC service plan is great because the HVAC technicians come out regularly to take care of everything. These guys do such great work that we never have to worry about things like HVAC system breakdowns, or any severe problems. At least so far we haven’t experienced any problems and I hope to keep things that way. Because my wife and I commonly disagree with the temperature control settings, I decided to have our HVAC upgraded to HVAC zone control. It’s nice because I can be in my office with comfortable temperature control settings that are different from the temperature control settings my wife has in the bedroom or living room. She loves to relax mostly when she gets home, and she will commonly watch her favorite shows like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy with the A/C system cranked up. If we didn’t have HVAC zone control, that would easily bother me, but it’s something we never fight about anymore. I honestly feel that the best way to make your marriage work, is to invest in something like HVAC zone control because fighting over the temperature control settings is not a healthy thing.

I’ve always cared a lot about my family and friends.

• This is why recently, I didn’t hesitate to help my brother and his family when he lost his job.

The reason he lost his job is due to this terrible pandemic that has been taking the world by storm. I mean personally, I wasn’t affected because I have a pretty reliable job where I work from home. I didn’t think the rest of the world would end up having to work from home too. Unfortunately, my brother’s business was severely impacted. The business owners ended up having to shut down for good because the business was not considered essential by the government. I felt so bad for my brother and his family, and I couldn’t see him be out there homeless with his family. I decided to take some steps before having his family move into my house. I have plenty of extra bedrooms, and I have a ductless mini split in my house. I actually thought I would marry my girlfriend from back then, but she ended up cheating on me and went to be with somebody else. I never got into a serious relationship since that time, and I never bought another house. So I have plenty of space, and I also decided to invest in a UV air purification system. I wanted this UV air purification system because I wanted to make sure that none of us would get sick from this virus that has been going around. The UV light works to kill dangerous pathogens, and so far we all have been doing great.
