Ductless heat pump resolves temperature issues

I often refinish outdated furniture as a activity in my spare time.

I visit local flea markets, garage sales, estate sales and antique stores and find sturdy, hardwood furniture for truly low prices.

These pieces have always been painted over multiple times, are missing hardware or disfigured in some way. I appreciate stripping the paint and uncovering the original woodgrain. I like making these pieces charming and useful again. I’ve recently started reselling the furniture and making a tidy profit. I decided I needed a dedicated space where I could work on the furniture all year round, no matter the weather. The dust, fumes and noise I create don’t allow myself and others to work inside the house. I ended up building a small shed in the backyard. It was straight-forward to run electric to the shed however I had some difficulty determining how to handle temperature control. I was unwilling to invest a ton of money into heating and cooling a shed. I didn’t have a good deal of room to accommodate bulky unit and whatever I chose needed to run on electricity! After quite a bit of research, I came across ductless heat pumps. A ductless unit is comprised of a fairly compact outdoor compressor and a truly streamlined and lightweight indoor air handler. The two components are affixed by a conduit that requires a more than two-inch hole in an exterior wall. The program was fairly overpriced to purchase, however I managed to install it myself. It provides both heating and cooling and effectively dehumidifies and filters out contaminants. It runs silently and is exceptionally energy efficient.
