In all the years I have worked at this heating and cooling company as one of their most certified heat and a/c specialists I have never called out sick! This has been for the last 8 years I have been working here.
If I had a small cold that was not contagious, I would suck it up and go into work anyhow.
Not only because I needed the money, but because I wanted to be a great asset to the heating and air conditioning company. I feel I am part of a family and a machine all at the same time. However last week I had the flu and had no choice but to call out sick. This was the first time ever I called out sick! They knew something was wrong for sure. But they actually gave me the sick time off with pay. This was for the great attendance I have had at the heating and air conditioning company these past 8 years. Everyone else calls out sick at the drop of a hat. And I was always there to fill in and pick up their heating and air conditioning repair work. But with me out sick, it was now the reverse. It was their turn to pick up my heating and air conditioning repair work while I was gone! It was a good exchange and it was even better that I did not lose any pay for being out sick. This was only because I was a great heating and air conditioning worker and never called out once in 8 years! That is a pretty good track record if you ask me. I am honored.
