I was able to make a damaged A/C unit last longer

When I had an A/C technician out to look at it and repair it, he told me I might as well replace it because it was on its last leg.

If you treat something with care and love, it will thrive. I have always believed and understood this, and seeing the transition my house and HVAC system made, it only further proves my point. My uncle was a very well off fellow, and because of that, he spent a lot of his time partying and drinking and treating his property like crap. When he was done with the place, the value was greatly diminished because of his party going ways. He couldn’t sell the house for the price he was looking for, so instead, I offered to buy it. The purchase went smoothly, and I was able to move in the next month. When I saw the house, I knew it was going to take a lot of work. There were a lot of holes, and stains in the carpet. So I got a handyman and a carpet cleaning company to help with those issues, as well as multiple other issues. One of the other bigger issues was the air conditioner and furnace, which was badly neglected. When I had an A/C technician out to look at it and repair it, he told me I might as well replace it because it was on its last leg. I didn’t really believe that and thought I could bring it back to life with some proper treatment. So instead I had the air conditioning professional clean out the system, replace a lot of the parts, refill the refrigerant and even fix holes in the ductwork. Then, I made sure to replace the filters with HEPA filters, get frequent maintenance and see what happens. The A/C device that was on it’s last leg went and lasted another 12 years before finally failing.
