Implementing tips to save on summer HVAC use

It’s that time of year again… I realize that it’s only the start of January, however that’s pre-Spring for us.

  • I live far enough south that my associate and I are genuinely already seeing pollen starting to cover the cars.

It’s not full on yet however it has started, and as soon as I have to wash any pollen off the car, it’s time for myself and others to call the heating and air conditioning business, then within more than five weeks, my associate and I can count on the day time rapidly increasing temperatures to remain in the 76’s, and that’s when the chorus of central heat pumps crank up in my village. While my associate and I tend to leave the thermostat alone until my associate and I are consistently topping 90, the heat pump needs to be ready; so once I finally see the pollen, I call the heating and air conditioning company to set up the a/c tune up. This is the first step when it comes to being proactive about saving on a/c costs. While my associate and I have a winter time to die for, the Summer thumps us. If you don’t have some sort of plan and preparation for the Summer heat and humidity, you’ll pay. I mean that quite literally. If you do not prepare the apartment properly, stop direct sunlight heating and have some thermostat control, it gets valuable. I know people that pay the equivalent of a new car payment just for the cooling comfort they love inside their house. To me, that is an immense waste of currency, however getting the a/c tune up ensures that the heat pump is running at its most efficient. From there, I spent a couple weekends making sure that the weather stripping is in fine shape. And all the gaps around the exterior of my apartment are sealed. Then it’s just pull the dark shades, keep the thermostat around 76 for the Summer and we’re fine to go.
