Do you assume that window a/cs are worth it? Honestly, I am not sure that window a/cs are worth it.

I have considered buying a window a/c just to cool our dining room down.

I live in a house, however the house does not have a central a/c. I have considered purchasing a central a/c, but I guess that I actually have no way of affording a central a/c.
