It wasn’t until I came back from a weekend trip that I noticed the smell. There was a funny smell wafting around my home, I wrinkled my nose at the smell, I wondered when this smell appeared. If I was just now noticing, I couldn’t help but to wonder how long it’s been there and I was just nose blind to the smell. Thankfully, it’s not like I have many guests over, so I don’t really need to worry about what other people might think. I decided to see if the smell would go away, and so I waited a week. Over the week, the smell only worsened, and out of frustration, I started looking for the source of the smell. I eventually found that it was coming from the A/C vents, and that is when I realized it was coming from the air conditioning system. Once I turned the A/C unit off, the smell disappeared. I’m not sure what a funny smell meant, but I knew I was going to need the cooling component and so having it off was not an option. I called a HVAC specialist and he came over to take care of the issue. He told me the issue was mold and mildew growth inside of the HVAC. Luckily, it was nothing that a good cleaning couldn’t take care of. The HVAC professional took his time cleaning out everything inside, and once it was cleaned, I could tell the smell was beginning to go away. I’m glad that is finally over, and my home can smell good again.

Have you ever had a weird preference for something, something that went against what most people liked? The unpopular opinion sort of speak, because I have had weird preferences.

In the older models of homes and mobile homes, the air conditioning vents used to be on the floor.

Now if you go into any modern home, most of the homes are going to have their HVAC vents on the ceiling. Maybe it’s a weird preference, but I have always preferred the air conditioning vents to be on the floor, it just makes the most sense to me. I remember in my old home that had HVAC vents on the floor, I would sit right next to the vent in the hot summer times. Nowadays in my new home I can’t do that. I know why some people don’t like theirs on the floor, because in their opinion it doesn’t look as nice as the ones on the ceiling do, but that is their opinion, because I disagree completely. Anyways my plan is when I move out of this home, I am going to look for a home that has my preferred air vents on the floor. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t consider a home that didn’t have the floor A/C vents, but any house that does have the right vents would be way more likely to be bought then ones that don’t. This is my weird preference and it is something that I wish would be more popular, but until then I will have to keep looking.

My community used to host a ton of garage sales, probably every few weeks ago.

Well even when I was poor I made sure to come and look, because more often than not, people are trying to get rid of perfectly good items for such a cheap price it’s unbelievable.

I once bought a car from a garage sale, which I still have to this day and it works great, probably one of the best cars I have ever had. One of my other favorite deals is when I got a 70 inch TV monitor and a surround sound system almost for free, because the people were moving and couldn’t take it with them. Now it’s like I have my own personal theater. Anyways, I went to a garage sale a week ago, and while I didn’t find anything nearly as nice as the things mentioned above, I did find something quite useful. There was someone selling a portable HVAC device for less than half its original price. The guy told me that he had it for a few minutes, and didn’t find much use of it, and that it was practically brand new. I bought it and took it home with me. Although much smaller than some of the items I have gotten in the past, the portable HVAC system looks fantastic in my bedroom, and it feels even better. This is why I love to go and look at garage sales, because you never know what you can get. If your neighborhood has garage sales, I would suggest doing the same, you never know what you might find!

My dad was there when I had a heating and air conditioning technician over at my place, and he was there to tell me to take advantage of their HVAC emergency service because one day it could benefit me.

He was not wrong, but at that time, I was pretty hard to convince because in order to get the HVAC emergency plan you had to shell out extra money.

My worst fear was that I would never use it, and that it would be a waste of money, but my father assured me it wouldn’t. I still was in doubt, but years later when the air conditioning system went out during a heat wave, I didn’t fret and called the HVAC corporation. They had a HVAC specialist out in less than 30 minutes and the HVAC unit was fixed in the same hour, so it was money well spent, especially considering the HVAC businesses are usually booked.

I took the time to find other models that would be a good fit for her home, even if they were a little more high-priced, and showed them to her. She huffed and promptly hung up. I forgot about the issue, until 2 months later when a coworker of mine mentioned my cousin, but apparently she had gone against my recommendations and got the cheap air conditioner component anyways, and surprise surprise, she is having a lot of issues. I can’t believe she went against a certified Heating and Air Conditioning professional’s advice, and instead obtained what she thought was right. This will hopefully be a good lesson for her to listen to the professionals.

With the modern air conditioning system, I didn’t want to take any possibilities of it messing up, so I decided to buy the best of the best filters, which are HEPA filters. This way this will preserve the health of our modern Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device.

My dad doesn’t regularly make much sense.

She can be very frugal with cash.

Hence I said she can be, with some things, love food, she will spend priceyly. He’ll actually spend over $300 a month on groceries for all kinds of junk food that the people I was with and I really don’t need. But anything else? Suddenly she becomes a penny pincher plus is digging for coupons. She is really exhausting about this when it comes to our furnace plus ; Don’t even get myself and others started on the control unit, the smart control unit is regularly supposed to be at 69 degrees exact, no more no less. I used to get past this by using her iPhone to control the cooling system, but now he’s locked her iPhone. Well she keeps the house 69 degrees, but with the sun shining in our home all of the time, it’s close to the mid 69s. The humidity is also really exhausting here, plus the people I was with and I have continuous mold plus mildew complications because of it. I have continuously recommended turning down the control unit, or at least getting a dehumidifier, but our dad is having none of it. Even our mom, who usually regularly takes her side, agrees with myself and others on this a single. But because of our dad’s stubbornness it looks love I won’t be getting a cooling breeze anytime soon, plus will be stuck in a hot house. I can’t wait for the cooler seasons to come… On the bright side, our Dad told myself and others that if it continues to get bad, she’ll get a dehumidifier, so at least the humidity won’t be as bad.
