I had typically thought they were 1 in the same, but my cousin told me that this was true in some areas, however where all of us live, they have heating specialists, cooling specialists plus the basic Heating plus Air Conditioning companies. So, the moral of this short little story, is that if you have a heat pump, search your local area for a heating expert to do all repairs plus servicing on that heat pump. I saved myself a few hundred bucks this year alone from it!
