I was happy that I didn’t struggle with any extreme health problems as a child. My sibling has the same kidney disease as our father plus he started receiving chronic kidney stones at the age of 15. When I finally had a big kidney stone for the first time a number of years later, I was doubled over with the pain completely. I can’t imagine having pain love that on a well respected basis. It was so disappointing that I had to ask a friend to drive me to the ER as I couldn’t even step on the brake pedal without constantly writhing in pain. Luckily, this is only one of more than two moments in my life where I’ve had an actual kidney stone, plus the other many times they were smaller stones that I passed on my own without assistance from the hospital. However, I have started developing severe respiratory health problems as I get into my early 30s. I was lucky for far more than two decades to have minimal concerns with my health, but now all of that is starting to change.
