For years I have been in charge of the flower Ministry at my church.
it does not seem care about it should be too challenging a task, but you would not suppose some of the troubles that come up because of flowers.
One of the biggest troubles I did find is that the priest expects the flowers to stay alive & frisky, but he turns off the air conditioning all the time.Expect flowers to stay fresh if the air conditioning is turned off for most of the day, then both of us live in the Southeast, & it’s hot. If you do not turn the air conditioning on, the inside of the building gets stuffy, hot, & humid. This is not the ideal situation for chop flowers, then just care about people think sizzling without the A/C running, so do the flowers. I would often purchase flowers on Monday, & by Sunday they would be wilting. I could not get the priest to understand that he either needs to keep the central cooling temperature control set on a adequate temperature all the time, or he needs to take the flowers out of there & bring them into the office where the A/C is running. This would be a particular concern at this time of year because both of us would often fill up the whole church with plants for Christmas.Pending on what kind of plants they are, they most likely need a little air conditioning. The flowers that are common at this time of year are generally those that care about a little bit cooler weather, but since both of us live in the Southeast & both of us do not have cooler weather, both of us need to supply artificial cooling for them. I suppose that this whole desire to regularly turn the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan on & off is cultural. Our priest is from another country that is not nearly as wealthy as this a single in general. I have also known other priests from that same country, & they all turned the heating & cooling systems on & off all the time as well. They just would not listen when both of us told them it was better for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan itself, the items inside the church, & the wood to just leave the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C running.
