I work on the docks of a big waterfront that gets all kinds of cargo coming in with items to store in assorted warehouses! These items are inventory for companies across the city.

This job can be physically demanding all around, and it can be pretty strenuous at times; like the other week both of us had a large shipment of heating, ventilation, plus A/C units that had come in for this big heating as well as air conditioning dealership that is in the city.

Moving these heavy pieces of heating, ventilation, plus A/C units was possibly the roughest job I have had to date while now working down here on the docks moving cargos; both of us had to have a few of us load these large pieces of heating, ventilation, plus A/C units on the dollies. Then both of us had to get them on to the fork lift, drive them over to the large building where they would be stored at, plus then we go back plus get the next load repeating the same exact process! By the time this was all done, I felt as if I would need a central a/c all to myself so I could cool off from how overheated I was from all that hard work…and this was in the middle of the cool season! Like I said, now working on the docks is a largely strenuous job sometimes. But that heating, ventilation, plus A/C shipment was possibly the worst plus most strenuous cargo I ever had to unload plus move! I particularly hope both of us never have another shipment of heating, ventilation, plus A/C equipment. Because if this becomes a common thing, I may just have to quit plus find a new job elsewhere.

I live in a state where during the winter it can get very, very, cold.

• So, I was worried when my heater died out of nowhere.

No longer having the furnace to warm the house meant if I wanted to stay warm, I would need to get it repaired. I did a brief internet search in an effort to find a HVAC company that would be able to fix my heating unit. I found one, but I had no such luck getting them to come out. Due to heavy snowfall the roads were blocked and many people in our area were snowed in. I knew that if I wanted to keep myself warm, I would need to go about it the old-fashioned way. I made my way through the deep snow, slowly approaching the shed in the yard. Once I had reached the shed, I went inside and grabbed the heavy axe sitting in the corner. From there, I went into a wooded area and cut down a few small trees to make some firewood. Luckily my house had a fireplace. I brought all the wood inside the house and put it inside the fireplace and created a fire. The fire helped to warm the house but it wasn’t as efficient as the furnace’s heating system. I hoped soon that the snow would melt and the HVAC company would be able to get out here to fix it. But until then this would work. The roads were closed for an entire week before the weather warmed up and the snow melted some. That was all I needed. That same week I once again got to enjoy having a functional heater.

After living in the city for ten years, I decided I was tired of the urban way of life.

Eager to get out, I started house hunting. After six months I had found a house in a cozy small town with good food and people. Three months later, I moved into my new home. Because this was a small town. The community of people that lived there was tight knit and everybody knew each other. I was an outsider, a stranger. But that didn’t last long. I was visited by my neighbors and they were very welcoming. Before long I had meant everyone and we all frequently visited each other’s houses. One of the first things I noticed about their houses was the variety of decorations. Everyone had their own sense of style. I also noticed the preference for heating and cooling was different for each person. My first neighbor closest to me, loves to have the heater always on. Even in the summer she always has the furnace running. Everyone will usually ask her to turn down the heat but she loves it. Meanwhile, my neighbor down the street, Tom, is the opposite. He always keeps the air conditioning on blast. I sometimes find myself wondering how he hasn’t blown out his HVAC system yet but it keeps going. Just last week after walking into his freezer of a house, my curiosity got the best of me and I asked. Turns out he frequently has a heating and cooling technician come out for regular maintenance. He keeps his a/c unit in good condition so he doesn’t have to worry about it going out on him.

This way the humidity level gets balanced plus mold isn’t given a foothold to thrive.

Heating & A/C is doing more than cooling the inside of your home

As a single mom who is always running around after his children and running late to just about everything, I struggle with remembering the little things, however i do everything I can to give my children the most normal and prosperous life, however in doing so, I forget about various responsibilities and chores, however for instance, while in the days when I’m lake home with my littlest one, I appreciate to adjust the thermostat to a warmer temperature.

• I only do this as a special treat when the temperature drops significantly outside; Normally, I leave the temperature the same in my home because I have it set to run efficiently, while simultaneously keeping all the people’s fingers and toes from cold.

I always have the best intentions to turn down the temperature before I leave the home to go opportunity up my other 2 kids from school, but I truly rarely remember. Instead, I’ll be halfway to the school before I remember that the heat is still running at a higher temperature than normal. If this was something I forgot occasionally, then it wouldn’t be a pressing deal… However, it happens almost everyday! Then, I’m so distracted by the thermostat settings that I neglect to socialize with my kids in the car. To solve the recurring problem, I installed a smart thermostat. Now, I can alter the temperature anywhere, anytime from my iphone, and so, when I get to my kids school, I can change the temperature back to normal without stressing about it all the way home.

I cannot guess our child earned a slot in his school’s pigskin team… Every one of us were so excited for him that we made the decision to go & support his team in his first ever game… It was a warm afternoon & the sun was blazing warm in the sky.

Every one of us got ready of our video cameras & positioned ourselves to the fourth row before the arena… A area of me wished the game took locale inside an enclosed arena & not in an open field so that our child & his teammates will enjoy the relaxing coldness from a central a/c.

I used to fan to ventilate his surroundings. When the medics came, they carried our child to the clinic. It was particularly refreshing to guess the comfortable coldness from the clinic’s Heating & Air Conditioning system. They applied an ice pack on his forehead, & get the oxygen tank ready in case he had trouble breathing. After quite a while, he got conscious again. I hugged him tightly, our worries draining away. I wish next time, the school will hold the game inside a close arena with sizable Heating & Air Conditioning a/cs. In this way, the players will have the comfort to move & play the game with the cool air coming from the a/c.
