I’m a manager for a franchise movie theater in my hometown.

We have twelve theaters, and at the time it was built it was state of the art.

A lot has changed in the last decade, but our technology has never been updated. Quite frankly, I am surprised we are even still in business. Thanks to COVID, we almost had to shut our doors permanently. Now things are starting to get back to normal, and we have patrons back in the movie theater! No one ever complains about our outdated projectors and screens, but we do get a fair amount of comments about our antiquated HVAC system. I think that the subject of air quality is foremost on everyone’s mind, thanks to COVID we all worry about the air we breathe. I share these concerns, but the truth is the HVAC system here is quite old, and although we do use HEPA rated air filters, there are a lot of bigger problems that need to be addressed. The head office for the company refused my request for an entire new and updated central HVAC system, saying it was cost prohibitive. On the other hand, ticket sales are going down and I believe the HVAC system is at least partially to blame. With no new HVAC system forthcoming, and the ticket sales dwindling for the summer, I think my own course of action is to start looking for a new job. If I had it all to do over again I would work for an HVAC company, because those guys make great money.

My husband runs his own company, and it is very small.

How small? He is the only employee.

I do a lot of work for him on the side, just to help out. When it got to the point where I was working for twenty or thirty hours a week for his company, I decided to ask for a job. Since I was already doing the work, I thought he should make me an official part of the company. He was amenable to that, because he was getting more gigs recently, but said that if I was serious then I would need to start learning about HVAC systems. I wouldn’;t need to be certified in HVAC work, but if I was going to be a long term part of the company I would need to know what I was talking about. The division of labor would be clear, and my husband will handle all the site visits and all the hands-on HVAC work. At the same time, people call in all the time with stupid little HVAC problems that can actually be fixed over the phone. You’d be surprised how many people don’t know how to change an air filter, or that the thermostat needs new batteries every few months. If I am answering the phones and talking with customers, then I need a baseline knowledge of HVAC systems. If I am clueless about heating and cooling systems, it could make the customers lose confidence in our services. I am taking some online tutorials about HVAC work starting today.

One thing I always remember to do is to change the air filter of my central heating and air conditioning system.

• This is something I have always been fit to do.

Because there was one time when I was a kid where my parents did not change the air filter of the central heating and air conditioning system for months and it ended up killing the central HVAC unit. I remember them having to pay thousands of dollars with no warning to get a brand new and up to date central heat and a/c unit. I said to myself at that point when I was kid that when I became an adult and had my very own brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system that I would never go and not change the air filter on time. I did not want that kind of out of nowhere cost hitting me! I also get my ductwork cleaned every single season. This is just an extra safety measure I take to ensure that my central heating and air conditioning system is going to work smoothly. I want nothing to go wrong until it is time for a brand new and up to date central heat and a/c unit. And that should not be for another 4 years yet because the lifespan of a central heating and air conditioning system is supposed to be a decade or more. And I am 4 years away from that at this very moment.

After working a very long day at my job in the dead heat of summer it is so nice to be able to come home and relax in super awesome and wonderful central air conditioning! The heat here can be pretty bad.

And the central air conditioning at work is not the best, but it’s enough to be able to work.

But the central air conditioning that I have is the top notch around. I put a lot of money into buying the most brand new, up to date and very expensive central heating and air conditioning system unit. It was the best thing for me to do since I really pride myself on the best indoor comfort. When I am at home I have to have the best air quality and the most perfect temperatures. It is a good thing my home is also built really nice so a basic central heating and air conditioning system does the job in heating and cooling my home. Otherwise I would have had to invest in one of those zoned heating and air conditioning systems, sometimes called HVAC zone control. That is for homes that have uneven temperatures like a friend of mine has. I am so thankful that is not me! Because zoned heating and air conditioning systems take up more energy use and raises your energy bills even higher than central heat and a/c in its basic form. I am so glad I can come home after a long day in my standard but up to date air conditioning!

I had my central heating and air conditioning system break down on me at the wrong time.

It was totally horrible.

It wasn’t just a regular breakdown. But what I needed was a whole new central heat and a/c unit. The only issue with this was that I could not afford it. And I did not want to put my house up as collateral for a bank loan either. So I ended up making a choice, and that was to nearly max out all my credit cards and buy the brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system that way. It was a tough choice to make but I had to do it. There was no way I could go without central heating and air conditioning because of the area I live in and the fact that a super beyond hot summer was right around the corner. I do have a wonderful working heat and a/c unit now. And I have to say that it was long overdue. My old central heating and air conditioning system was really weak because it was on its way out for so long. I did not even notice or think about it until getting this brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system unit. The difference in the air flow was the biggest thing. It was a sign the old air conditioning and heating system was going out, but again, I didn’t even notice. But even though I am in debt up to my ears now, at least I have great indoor comfort once again.

After a while of using regular HEPA air filters and being very impressed by how they improved my home’s air quality and how I did not have to buy air filters as often because of the HEPA air filters being long lasting, I ended up taking it a step further to try to save even more money and have quality air filters.

• And this was buying washable air filters.

Not just any washable air filters, but again, HEPA brand washable air filters! I was a bit skeptical at first about the whole concept of them. But I decided to take a chance because of how great the regular HEPA air filters were. And I was so glad that I did. Because these washable HEPA air filters are nothing but the best! They provide the same great durability as the regular HEPA air filters, they still give my home the greatest air quality without the need of a whole home air purification system and now I can save even more money not having to buy air filters all but once a year! This is if I buy a large bulk of these HEPA air filters that is. It costs a nice little amount of cash, but in the end you save a ton by not having to buy air filters every other month. I really suggest these washable HEPA air filters. They wash real easy and do not fall apart like it has been told generic brand washable air filters do a lot of the time. These are solid as a rock and I suggest these to every single person in the world!

I just discovered HEPA air filters. I wish I would have discovered these a lot sooner! Because these great HEPA air filters for my central heating and air conditioning system have made the air quality in my home much better. I was nearly about to look into getting a bank loan to invest in a whole home air purification system for my central heat and a/c unit. Thankfully I did not go and do that and get myself thousands of dollars in debt. Because these HEPA air filters were the answer all along! The other thing about these HEPA air filters other than improving my home’s air quality is the fact that the HEPA air filters are longer lasting than the standard air filters that I used to buy before. In my experience the HEPA air filter can last up to 3 months before needing to be changed. While the other air filters would only last a month and I would need to keep on changing them and then go to the store and buy more when they ran out. HEPA air filters may be more expensive, but in the end they actually save you money because you do not have to buy them as frequently. I could actually save even more money with HEPA air filters and get the washable air filters. But I am just not ready to try those quite yet. I want to keep on with the regular HEPA air filters for a while. Then I will take a chance and see if the washable air filters work as they say they do.

I was recently shopping for something completely different when I came across smart thermostats in the same store.

They were on sale which made me actually buy one.

I had been interested to get a smart thermostat for a while now but have just been both lazy about it and also not wanting to let go of my old dial thermostat. I am not one who is partial to technology. But this day in the store seeing the smart thermostat being on sale, I said to myself “i’ll buy that!”. So I did. I am glad that I bought the smart thermostat because it has made running my central heating and air conditioning system so much easier and convenient. First I can now control the thermostat from anywhere in my home thanks to the app that comes with it on my cell phone. If I am on the couch watching TV and relaxing and I need more heating or more air conditioning, I can just punch a few buttons on the app and the smart thermostat will turn on the central heating and air conditioning at whatever temperature I decide. The same as my old dial thermostat would by hand. Then the other great thing about this smart thermostat is that I reduce the use of my central heat and a/c unit which in turn saves me a little money on energy use. I can turn it off and then turn it back on when I am out of the house for any reason. This again is all through the app on the cell phone. I am really kicking myself for not getting this smart thermostat sooner!

I have to say how blown away I am by today’s heating and air conditioning technology. Especially the smart thermostat. Having a smart thermostat really comes in handy when I go on vacation. I can save so much money on my monthly energy bills when before the smart thermostat this was not possible. The reason for this is when I go on vacation I can program the smart thermostat to shut off the central heating and air conditioning system and keep it off the entire time I am away. Then when I am traveling back home I program it to come on at the beginning of whatever day that is. So that way it will have anywhere from 6 to 8 hours or more to heat or cool the house down. Then when I walk in the house it would be like the central heating and air conditioning system was running all week and I would not know any difference. But my electric bill knows the difference. And that is such a great thing about the smart thermostat. It isn’t only convenient and a headache free way to operate your central heating and air conditioning system unit, but it also is a major money saver if you use it right and do what I do when I go on vacation. I even do that when I go to work during the week. But then I do not program it. I use the app on the cell phone to turn it off when I leave for work in the morning and then I manually turn it back on when coming home.

The night time is the best time in the summer time months to have the best air quality where I have my summer home. I am lucky enough to own a summer home right by the beach. As I am sure you know, this cost me a fortune but I was able to buy it after years of hard work at my job. I love being able to go down on the beach in the late evening hours and just take in the wonderful air quality that comes off of the ocean. There is no need for a whole home air purification system or anything even remotely related to an air purifier. Because the air quality is nothing short of perfect. Even the temperatures are perfect at night along with the air quality. So perfect that I do not even have to use the central heating and air conditioning system after 9pm most of the time in the summer months at my summer home. That is a double good thing because running the central air conditioning on the central heat and a/c unit can get quite expensive when it comes to the energy use. I want to pay as little as possible on that after all the money I spent getting this house to begin with. Summer nights are the best and the right time for everything around here. The air quality, the temperatures and also the atmosphere is really nice in general. I am so happy I live here in the summer and I am happy that I can enjoy it all.
