Recently I have been having a lot of nostalgic flashbacks thanks to the seasonal change and our environment; however I have been visiting our mom for a while and it has been rather emotional to be back in the same area that I grew up in.
I haven’t spent time here in nearly a decade, so it has been a rush of outdated sights and sounds; but the other morning I drove past the private school that I used to attend and couldn’t help but assume a pressing mix of emotions.
However one of the things I remembered genuinely particularly well was standing in a hot, disgusting, mandatory study hall… But for whatever reason, both of us were required to take this study hall in private school. This week, I had nothing to do for one period each morning, since there was just no homework… I learned from the books contained in the dank, humid room. Apparently, the terrible air quality in the learning hall room inspired myself and others to begin studying about indoor air handling devices. There weren’t various books to choose from, so the heating and cooling repair textbooks seemed like as great an option as any other. I started perusing the history of air handling equipment, the engineering that operated the air handling devices, and best practices for current heating, cooling, and air quality equipment insulation. By the end of our private school career I had finished every heating and cooling repair book in the classroom. I do not assume that this mandatory learning hall was necessary… But it did prepare myself and others to enter heating and cooling Technical School with a solid heating and air conditioning education already under my belt.
