My mom somehow got tricked into hosting this year’s block party at her house.
It’s always held in the fall, and my mom is stressing out over her current HVAC system.
Even though her heating and cooling system hasn’t really given her that much of a reason to think that it’s going to tear up, she’s still paranoid. She says she just knows that her heating and cooling system is going to conk out just before the block party starts. She’s very paranoid about something like that happening, since she likes being a good hostess to her guests. She said that it will be awful if she has a house full of people and the heating goes out. Of course, that’s if the weather even starts cooling down by that point. You never really know what the temperature is going to be during the fall of the year. Some days you need to turn the heating on, but then some days you need to use the air conditioning. It’s pretty weird in the part of the country where we live. You just never know whether you need to update your furnace or your A/C system. And in my mom’s case, she is thinking that she should just go ahead and update her entire HVAC system before this party. I told her that she’s probably overthinking the whole thing. I don’t think that one block party is a good reason to spend a fortune doing an overhaul on her HVAC system. Her existing HVAC system isn’t that old as it is. I think no matter where the temperature is set on her thermostat, the party is going to be fine.
