In my town, we have lots of downtown celebrations.
One of the things that I enjoy doing most is the summer parade.
The summer parade generally takes place in July sometime, it is not the same as the Fourth of July parade. If they ever start being politically correct so much that they call the 4th of July parade a summer parade, I will boycott it. Anyway I digress. This year I went to the summer parade oh, but I really did not plan to stay long. It is extremely hot here in the summer, and as I get older I find it increasingly difficult to put up with the heat and humidity. Anyway, this particular year, I found myself staying for the whole thing. The reason is simple. The summer parade sponsor was an HVAC company! The heating and cooling company brought out air conditioning like you would not believe! They had portable air conditioners set up in tents all over the place. The parade route was just full of air conditioning. All these AC units were like a blessing from heaven. Not only that, I discovered that when their float came floating by, the hair on the young ladies was blowing in the wind. I thought that it was just because they were moving, but of course, that was not the case. They had portable air conditioners on their float! The young men and women who were fortunate enough to ride on the heating and cooling float were extremely lucky. I think it is amazing that this year our summer parade sponsor chose to offer a bunch of air conditioning because nothing could have made me stay other than that. I’m sure the other Vendors were happy too, because I stayed long enough to spend more money at the other booths.
