In our town, all of us have a good amount of downtown celebrations.
One of the things that I like doing most is the warm season parade.
The summer time parade generally happens in June sometime. It is not the same as the Fourth of July parade, and if they ever start being politically respected so much that they call the 4th of July parade a summer time parade, I will boycott it. Anyway I digress. This year I went to the warm season parade but I easily did not stay long. It is extremely sizzling here in the warm season, and as I get older I find it increasingly difficult to put up with the heat and humidity. Anyway, this particular year, I found myself staying for the whole thing. The reason is self-explanatory. The summer time parade sponsor was an HVAC device corporation! The heating and cooling supplier brought out a cooling system that was impressive! They had portable cooling devices set up in tents all over the venue. The parade route was just full of cooling devices. All these AC units were something like a blessing from heaven! Not only that, I discovered that when their float came floating by, the hair on the young women was blowing in the wind. I thought that it was just because they were moving, but of course, that was not the case. They had portable cooling devices on their float! The young boys and women who were blessed enough to ride on the heating and cooling float were absolutely comfortable. I believe it is amazing that this year our warm season parade sponsor chose to offer a bunch of cooling devices because nothing could have made me stay other than that. I am sure the other Vendors were pretty excited too, because I stayed long enough to spend more currency at the other booths.
