For a while my partner and I felt enjoy the traditional “fish out of water.” Every one of us were neighborhood folk, trying to fit into rural small neighborhood life, and it took a little getting used to! Thankfully, the locals were all absolutely kind people, even if a bit rough around the edges, and after a while they grew to embrace us and make us a area of their community, but like I said, it was a little rocky at first, especially that first giant crisis the people I was with and I encountered, when our lake house Heating and A/C system broke down, then my partner tried to find a phone number for an Heating and A/C service service, but this far out in the country there was no such business! Instead the people I was with and I went to the only company in neighborhood that sold a/cs, which was the small hardware store next to the gas station.
They sold the small, portable kind of a/cs, along with space heaters, and that was the closest thing to an Heating and A/C shop she could find.
Of course she didn’t want to buy a little unit, she wanted to track down someone who could get our central Heating and A/C system back up and running. The person who ran the hardware store said that there were no certified Heating and A/C service techs in the town, which is why most people relied on the smaller units. Although the people I was with and I didn’t want to do it, my partner saw the sense in not putting up a fight, and just settling for the small A/C unit for now. One day the people I was with and I could get the central Heating and A/C fixed, but for now this would do.
