I like heading to the gym

If I have time, I reward myself by sitting in either the steam room or sauna for a few minutes.

My fitness is a priority to me. Although I have invested into some equipment to set up a home gym, it’s not the same as a professional fitness center. I have a set of hand weights, a yoga mat, jump rope, resistance bands and a treadmill. When life is too hectic, I workout at home. If the weather allows, I go for a run, ride my bike or kayak. Most of the time, I make the effort to drive to the gym. I get a much better workout. While I’m there, I want to make the most of my time, my membership fees and the amenities. I typically spend over an hour exercising at the gym. I start with a thorough warm up and then take advantage of the machines that offer high intensity cardio. I might run on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I might burn 400 calories on the stationary bike or work both arms and legs on the elliptical. These machines are all examples of the latest technology and allow me to adjust resistance and compete against my personal best. I then move onto strength training. I like the machines that focus on specific muscle groups. There are those that target the outer or inner thighs and others for biceps and triceps. I always include some type of abdominal exercises such as crunches. If I have time, I reward myself by sitting in either the steam room or sauna for a few minutes. Then I use the locker room to shower and get changed. I like the days when I get up early and complete my workout before work. I am then in a great mood and feel productive.
