I workout every day

I workout every single day without fail. It doesn’t matter if I’m tired, pressed for time or just not in the mood, I make exercise a priority. I consider it as important and necessary as brushing my teeth or washing my hair. I prefer to complete my workout first thing in the morning. I then have a more productive day. I have more energy and feel good about myself. I’ve made sure that I can get a good workout at home. I have a lanai on the back of my house that I leave empty for the sake of an exercise space. I don’t fill the lanai with furniture. Instead I have a set of free weights, my jump rope, a yoga mat and a stationary bike. Because the one wall is entirely constructed of screens, the weather is a big factor. In the summer, I need to workout as early in the morning as possible. I try to get the workout completed before the heat of the day sets in. Although I have a box fan that I can plug in, it doesn’t help much. I stand directly in front of the fan, adjust it to the highest setting and still sweat profusely. It’s hard to push myself when I am so overheated. I have the opposite problem in the winter. I need to hold off on my workout until the temperature warms up a bit. I plug in a space heater that makes very little difference. I struggle to workout when I’m bundled up in layers of clothes and my muscles feel extra tight. When the weather allows, I love going for a ride on my bicycle or a run. It’s something different and a great way to burn calories, work a bunch of new muscles and elevate my heart rate. No matter what type of workout I do, I always include a dedicated warm up, thorough stretch and proper cool down.
