A few years back I made the choice to try my hand at playing my guitar as well as singing while at open mic night at a bar I love going to in town. I didn’t really think it would ever develop into anything, let alone an ongoing set of local gigs. There were a handful of people at the bar that night who wanted me to play more after I finished a rendition of America from Simon as well as Garfunkel. I just had my acoustic guitar with me that night, however nowadays I use more stage equipment. I commonly play my electric guitar into a series of effects pedals before running the audio in as well as out of my tablet. The music recording software permits me to play bass as well as drum backing tracks while I perform on my electric guitar. It would be really nice to play in some kind of band in the distant future, however for now I am more than elated just playing as a solo act at local bars. Happily the main bar that I play at the most has its own PA system inside their venue. It would be severely taxing for me to cart my own PA system around to every bar at which I perform. They even have a full stage lighting kit with different spotlights as well as an array of beautiful multi-colored lights. For now I am just going to treat this as a regular part time job without any delusions about getting a full stage show to travel the country. It’s a rather exciting activity as well as a fine way to decompress from a long as well as grueling work week. It’s also marvelous not having to deal with equipment rentals to get access to a proper PA system.
