My new home won’t stay heated at all

This has been a single of the worst winters that I have had as of yet.

I had no idea what to do because it was cold cold outside and no matter how high I would put our temperature control I was still cold, but my new home simply wouldn’t hold the heat and so I started doing some work looking into why I was losing so much heat.

I knew the first thing I should do is contact a heating and cooling specialist. I wanted to have a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker look over our furnace and make sure that it was functioning properly. I knew it shouldn’t be a furnace issue, I had just had tune-ups done to our furnace plus it wasn’t even that old, but still, I busy the appointment anyway and it wasn’t long device the heating and a/c professional arrived. He thoroughly examined our furnace and told me it was in perfect working condition, and our ductwork was great too. So there weren’t any leaks there either. He told me he suspected I had some drafts in the new home that were letting the hot air escape. After doing some more digging, I discovered he was right, then not only did I find numerous locations where the air was escaping but our new home was also old and had entirely little insulation. I decided to rip up the walls and have new, better insulation installed. Then I sealed up all the points where there were drafts and just to be sure I resealed the windows and doors too. That is what fixed it and now our new home is as toasty as can be.
