Our air duct was sagging.

For a woman, I am tall.

I sit 6’1” without my shoes, so it isn’t unproper to hit my head on the air duct when I am in the basement. My basement ceiling is only several inches above my head. When I went downstairs last week, I slammed my head into the air duct that normally didn’t provide me any trouble. After checking it out, I called the HVAC business. The brackets that held the aged air duct in locale were broken plus the air duct was sagging. I thought the HVAC tech would simply put current brackets around the air duct, even though I thought wrong. When she showed up, she told me that the bracket had rusted from the dampness in the basement. Not only were the brackets rusting, but so was the air duct. She did an inspection of all the air duct, plus she showed me where it was rusted through in many spots. The heating was coming out into the basement instead of up through the air duct plus into the house. She said that this section of the air duct would need to be upgraded. She was going to inspect as much of the air duct as she could, plus then she would have a specialist come in plus make a final decision. I knew I was going to end up with a major service bill when I heard the word specialist thrown in with the HVAC. When the HVAC tech came back the next afternoon, she explained about the air duct. She said she was going to install a flex pipe to take the locale of the rusty metal air duct. The specialist agreed that the flex pipe should be enough to service the mangle.
