Signing up for group fitness classes

For many years, I struggled to stick with any type of workout program.

I tried following along with workout videos but found it too easy to be lazy.

For a while, I was running every day. Then I developed problems with my feet and ankles. This provided an excuse to quit. I eventually joined a gym but only attended sporadically. Signing up for a group fitness class has totally changed how I approach my fitness. I’ve realized that joining a class holds me accountable. I don’t feel comfortable just not showing up when I’m expected to be there. For me, showing up is more than half the battle. Once I’m there, I’m committed to putting in 100% effort. These guided workouts are really beneficial. The instructor doesn’t allow anyone to slack off and is constantly encouraging, motivating and pushing us to new levels. Plus, there are all different types of classes available at the gym. I sign up for anything and everything that fits in with my work schedule. My goal is to have some type of class that I attend at least five days per week. Because of these classes, I’ve learned all different types of fitness techniques. I’ve gained strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, and I’ve had fun. I’ve also met some really great people. These classes are fun and very worthwhile. I’ve tried yoga, spin, pilates and HIIT so far. I am signed up to start circuit training, strength training and a fitness boot camp next month.
