My wife wanted to move to the country after our child was born, but she insisted that the city was no place to raise a child.
She did not want our child exposed to the mean streets and bi-weekly problems that real life people encounter, so I begrudgingly agreed to move to the burbs! We found an older, dilapidated plantation condo on forty acres of property, but my wife fell in enjoy with the condo as soon as she saw the old shutters and the interior fixtures.
I thought the condo was out of our budget especially with all the repairs that it needed, then once again, our wife talked me into making a decision that I knew I would regret. Now the two of us are stuck with a mortgage on a condo that requires several repairs. Our heating bill is through the roof. That is our major complaint right off the bat. We moved in the middle of September, I thought the two of us should wait until the end of the university year however our wife insisted that the two of us move into the new place before Christmas. She wanted to impress our friends and family with the new place and have a big party. She put up thoUnited Statesnds of lights all over the house. The heating bill and the electric bill were astronomical. The oil furnace did not keep the condo actually hot and the two of us had to use a space heating system in addition to the main oil furnace. I’m pretty sure the oil furnace is going to need repairs soon too, because $400 dollars seem unadequate, however between the heating bill, the oil furnace repairs, and the electric bill, I’m starting to assume the two of us made the wrong decision with this house.
