I have a small advertising firm that I thought I might lose last year.
With the economy grinding to a near halt, most companies were cancelling their suppliers left & right.
Additionally, I had loyal staff that have been with me from the beginning that I wanted to be sure still had work. It was a spot that all the cooling systems in the world wouldn’t keep me from dripping with sweat through. Ultimately, we had to send everyone’s apartment to work in the safety of the cooling system of individual homes. And I had to ask all the people to dig deep on some pay cuts. To fuel the payroll, I took no paycheck for the year & lived off our savings & my fiance’s salary. There was no way I was asking all the people to keep working from the cooling system of the apartment for less without doing that & more myself. The appealing thing was that we saved the supplier & easily turned a profit. I immediately turned that profit right back to our staff through bonuses & a heating and A/C upgrade in our newly reopened office. I had the heating and A/C supplier wor on the currently existing heating and A/C unit to allow us to enjoy zone controlled heating and A/C throughout the office. This had been easily an overdue heating and A/C upgrade. Our office is an open area that spans one floor of an office building. However, up until the zone controlled heating and A/C was installed, there had been only one temperature control for the whole office. That just didn’t work legitimately well. So I was thrilled to see how happy all the people were to have 5 different zone control heating & cooling sites throughout our office now.
