When my boss called me into his office, I never expected it was to offer me a new position and a change of scenery.
He told me he had an opening in a single of their new facilities and he needed a manager to run the entire area.
I couldn’t guess the benefits package he had planned for me, and that was just the start. He said he would supply housing for the first six weeks until I could find somewhere of my own, and he paid for the move. Add in the new pay raise, and I felt appreciate I was walking on air. On the day I was to leave, he handed me the address and all the information for the new home, but he then introduced me to a single of the employees who was going to be working with me. He paid for his to fly up and fly back with me. I was not prepared for the change in temperature when I got off the plane. It was snowing when I got onto the plane, however it was nearly eighty degrees when I got off. I asked the guy if there was a/c in the condo they got me. She said that every house in this section had a/c. When he chuckled, I frowned. I had never lived in the south, and I couldn’t imagine never seeing snow again, however this was what I had chosen. I could only hope the a/c in the condo was as fantastic as the oil furnace in my ancient apartment. Surprisingly, I had a numerous-dining room house to go house to, and the a/c was better than I could imagine.
