My husband and I are planning on retiring this year, but we are trying to find a vacation house that we both like.
I am bound and determined to find a place that has a fireplace in it and I refuse to buy a house without one. My husband says that I am just being too picky and that I should just give up on finding a place with a fireplace because at this point, we haven’t had any luck whatsoever in finding a place with a fireplace. I don’t think that’s true, though. The only thing is that I want what I want. I mean, if I am going to spend a fortune on a new vacation house for my retirement years, then I want it to have every single thing in it that I want. And of course, that includes a fireplace of some sort! I keep telling my husband that I’m not really all that picky at all. At least I’m not as picky as he likes to say that I am, that’s for sure. I don’t even care what sort of a fireplace we get. I would be just as happy with a gas fireplace as I would with a wood burning fireplace. Of course, I would rather have a wood burning fireplace, but I would never say that out loud to my husband at this point. Now, we are looking for a place with a high efficiency heating and cooling system, a fireplace, and a whole home air conditioning system. It’s a tall order, but if we can find a place with all of these things, then we will know that the house is meant to be ours. I always thought that we would be retired already, but it’s taking us much longer to find the perfect house than I thought it would!
