Went all in on HVAC upgrade

It’s not like I was actively wishing the old HVAC unit dead or anything.

But I did start a fund once it was close to turning 20 years old.

And still the dang thing just wouldn’t die. Of course, the fact that we provided such consistent HVAC service for it over all those years was a big factor in its longevity. However, the old HVAC unit finally started showing the signs that it was at the end. The heat pump just ran all the time and the utility bill went right through the roof. So we had the HVAC technician come out to check it and he confirmed what we had expected. That meant that we could start planning the HVAC replacement. And that savings account had grown substantially so we were able to go into this HVAC process without too many financial constraints. And boy, did we ever go all in on the latest that residential HVAC has to offer. The heat pump was top of the line. This model came with the highest SEER rating we could find. This means that there aren’t many more heat pumps as efficient. We added to that a smart thermostat. I know for sure the smart thermostat will do a better job of monitoring the HVAC equipment than I ever could. Then we got zone controlled HVAC as well. That means we now have 5 separate HVAC zones in the house. Each HVAC zone comes with its own thermostat as well. I tip my cap to that old HVAC unit for sure. But man, am I ever glad it finally gave up the ghost because this new HVAC equipment is just simply amazing.
