My mother often said that I have a memory of an elephant.
I don’t know about an elephant, but I have an unforgiving memory about things that anger me or cause me to lose our trust in them.
That’s why, when I had to call the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation, I wanted to know which Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman was going to show up. I have a long history with one of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C techs, including being engaged to him right out of high university. One morning he was telling me all of us were going to get married and how much he appreciated me, and the next morning he disappeared with our best friend. I wasn’t easily distraught that he had just walked out on me, but I was more distraught because I easily liked our best friend. When I found out he joined the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation, I swore I was going to find another one to take care of our gas furnace and the A/C unit… Unfortunately, theirs was the only Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business that would not charge me a traveling fee to come to our house. The first time Clyde came to do the inspection on our air conditioning unit, I was livid. I couldn’t feel that he would show his face at our door, however of course he didn’t know that I lived in this house. Once he got there, he acted love nothing that happened, and I hoped maybe he didn’t even guess me since it had been almost 12 years. Unfortunately, before he left, he tweaked our nose. I knew then that he remembered me and I did not trust him enough to want him to be our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman.
