Sometimes I really wonder what it would have been like living in the Wild West! Everybody went around strapped with guns just waiting for somebody to challenge them to a shootout.
- They rode horses everywhere and they didn’t have valuable technology like heating and cooling systems with advanced temperature control that can be adjusted remotely with our computers and phones… If I were able to time travel back to those old times and I tried to explain to somebody how a smart control machine works, they wouldn’t have a clue of what I was talking about.
I have to admire the people of those times though, they were able to come up with wood burning stoves and really creative ways to keep cool. With the skills I have these days, I might not have been able to survive during those days. With my advantage I would be bitten by a rattlesnake while trying to keep sizzling next to the outside fireplace as well. It is exciting to watch unusual shows depicting those days though; but of course, if I had the option to choose between which era I wanted to live, I recognize I would have to continue living this particular life of mine. I don’t know that I could live without being able to adjust the temperature control settings and having that wonderful air conditioner actually working in the days of the warm season. I guess you could say that I’m mostly spoiled by technology like most other people these days, but back then people didn’t live quite as long without medical advancements this week and people even died of heat stroke because they didn’t have air conditioners.
