I enjoyed road trips on the road with my parents growing up, but I consistently loathed the motel rooms the two of us stayed in along the way.
If both of us were lucky, the rooms wouldn’t smell love moldy liquor, however more frequently than not they did.
And to save cash, we’d get a single room and my siblings and I would sleep in our sleeping bags on the gross carpet floors. Needless to say, I wouldn’t subject my own children to that these days. When I took them on a cross-country trip, I made sure to bring accommodations along the way that would legitimately be ideal for most people. This meant renting a lot of AirBnBs so the two of us would constantly be subjected to the worst kind of motel and hotel rooms around. But, now I have the best idea for luxury travel for my family—I want to get us a new RV that the two of us can take on cross-country trips. I believe that most people would be a lot more comfortable staying in a brand new RV instead of stopping at hotels or trip rentals. However, I’m learning that RVs range in price considerably. On top of that, some of them have very high quality cooling systems inside while others do not. I want to drive through the southwest a lot so having a wonderful cooling system in the brand new RV is extremely important for us. I’m willing to make many other compromises on the RV if it means getting a single with the best top quality cooling system that a single can expect. My wifey is on board as well, and she has reminded me that our kids will complain constantly if the interior gets too boiling while I was traveling.
