Taking care of our midwest customers

I have been living in the Midwest of the country for the majority of our life.

What that means for me, as an Heating and A/C professional, is that I have a lot of heating system service calls in the winter months.

The winters usually get pretty rough out in that space of the country plus that means that they take the “health” of their heating system one hundred percent seriously. When I moved here, where the winters are much more moderate, I found that oil furnaces were not nearly as popular as they were in the Midwest. In fact, heat pumps were almost all I had to task on. I had never really worked on a heat pump before. Well, I guess that’s not true. Technically, cooling systems are a type of heat pump (except the heat only goes a single direction, plus that is outside of the house). The heat pumps that I’m talking about would upgrade the air conditioner plus heating system systems with just an average unit. Heat pumps can either pull the tepid air out of the house- appreciate an cooling system- or pump tepid air in- appreciate a heating system. Heat pumps are better about and and keeping that heating plus cooling bill low, however they don’t get the home as sizzling as a heating system would. However, similar to what I said before, it’s moderate here so there’s really no need to have the level of heating that a heating system can provide. I have a heat pump in our own home, plus I prefer it! It makes it ten times easier to only worry about a single heating plus cooling unit. I will admit, though, occasionally I do miss the toasty heat of a heating system.
