My cousin lives in the South where it rarely ever snows.
We visit each other every year.
I come down to him every now and then and he comes up to me on occasion. When we were kids, our parents would take us on trips together, and every now and then it would be our grandparents. Because we were both only childs we became like each other’s siblings. Last year, it was my time to go down to visit him in the South. I was really anticipating the nice warm weather for a change. However, it turns out that a freak winter storm hit just when it was my time to visit. He called me the day before my flight to warn me that his water pipes had frozen and that he was having issues with his furnace. I still decided to take my flight to go visit him even in the freezing weather. After all, I was used to very cold winters. I flew to him and he picked me up from the airport. I have to say that the heater in his car was working great and kept us nice and toasty on the ride back home. However, when we arrived at his house, I could see that the furnace was faulty. My cousin said it had given out on him the previous day after making some concerning noises. He did not realize how bad the damage was, so now we had to wait a few days for an HVAC technician to be able to come out and fix the problem. In the interim, because of the intense cold, we decided to rent a hotel and hang out together there.
