Give me the heat pump for the winter

There is just no more left in the tank for me when it comes to the tough winter weather I have lived with all of my life.

After 51 years, I’m hanging up winter up north for winter down south.

The idea of trading a gas furnace for a heat pump sure sounds good to me. I’m just not up to dealing with being inside all winter just trying to stay warm with the HVAC heating. And the high cost of the HVAC heating is another thing I surely won’t miss. I really don’t think I’ll ever miss having a gas furnace. The region that I moved to enjoys a very mild winter. The HVAC method of choice in this are is the heat pump. That’s a pretty obvious choice given the fact that HVAC cooling is the main need in this region. But I have to say that the heat pump is more that adequate at heating. While our heat pump doesn’t come on all that much over our winter, my in laws are different. They live about 3 hours just north of us and get much more need for heating from the heat pump. I’ve spent plenty of time in their house over the winter since we moved down here. And the heat pump produces the same quality heating and air as I expected it would. For sure, the heat pump in our house gets the most work from April through October as least. So it’s sort of nice that the heat pump is mainly quiet this time of year. That would not be the case with the gas furnace were we still dealing with that brutal cold we chose to leave.
