I thought stuff was supposed to get easier the older you get.
At least that was the impression that I had from our parents’ experience.
But I’m guessing they kept several of the challenges the people I was with and I are now facing to themselves back then. My spouse and I are empty nesters who decided to get into this ultra hot housing market. While the people I was with and I are both still nearly a decade or more from retirement, paring down our lives seemed doable given the financial incentive. So the people I was with and I upgraded the heating and A/C device along with several other facets of our family beach house to get it on the market. I truthfully didn’t have any idea things would transport as abruptly as they did. I was just getting accustomed to the new zone controlled heating and A/C and the smart thermostat the heating and A/C supplier installed. Our new heating and A/C device has the latest in heating and A/C technology and super SEER ratings. So that aspect was a big selling point. I just thought we’d have a bit more time when the home hit the market. The reality is there was a bidding war for our home and the people I was with and I ended up selling for nearly 20 percent over an already steep asking price. The thing is that we had to get out in like 60 days So the people I was with and I entirely had to get after it while also genuinely working our full time work. It has been quite the experience. Now the people I was with and I are in a rental device with 2 study rooms and a bunch of stuff in storage. This would be a better situation had the rental place come equipped with good Heating and A/C equipment. But, I will use this as motivation to find or build our next home.
