The factory is in need of third shift work

I went to work last night and there was a note on the break room door, and many of my co-workers and I were surprised to find out that the factory is going to stop production on the third shift.

I am actually surprised by the news, especially since we have been running a third shift at this factory for the past 20 years, but this particular factory supplies all of the Heating and A/C parts to hundreds of companies on the East Coast.

This factory makes air conditioners, heaters, furnaces, heat pumps, media UV air purifiers, and air filters. I have been working third shift for the past several years and I am not looking forward to moving to a new shift. Most of the people that work at the Heating and A/C factory during the day look irritated, but not only do they have to work with all of the managers and the executives, but they have the hottest temperatures and the most humidity. The factory makes Heating and A/C parts, but the employees barely have any air conditioning in the assembly shop, and we have giant overhead fans that remove some of the heat, but it’s still excessive while working during the day. If they really remove the third shift, I am going to do my best to go to nights instead of mornings. If I get forced to work on morning shift I might take our brother up on an offer to work at his company, he is working for a car dealership and they need someone to change tires and oil. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it pays the same as the Heating and A/C factory.
