If they really and the third shift, I’m going to do my best to go to nights instead of days
I went to work last night and there was a note on the break room door. Many of my co-workers and I were surprised to find out that the factory is going to stop production on the third shift. I’m very surprised by the news, especially since we have been running a third shift at this factory for the past 20 years. This particular factory supplies all of the HVAC parts to hundreds of companies on the East Coast. This factory makes air conditioners, heaters, furnaces, heat pumps, air purifiers, and air filters. I have been working third shift for the past eight years and I am not looking forward to moving to a different shift. Most of the guys that work at the HVAC factory during the day look miserable. Not only do they have to work with all of the managers and the executives, but they have the hottest temperatures and the most humidity. The factory makes HVAC parts, but we barely have any air conditioning in the assembly shop. We have large overhead fans that remove some of the heat, but it’s still excessive during the day. If they really and the third shift, I’m going to do my best to go to nights instead of days. If I get forced to work on dayshift I might take my brother up on an offer to work at his company. He is working for a car dealership and they need someone to change tires and oil. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it pays the same as the HVAC factory.
