I hate having such a sensitive sense of smell.
There are those that might call me lucky, however ignorance is bliss with some respected smells.
I l acquired this fairly suddenly when I visited a family member who lived near a dog food processing plant. The smell at night was indescribably rank, and I later found out that it was from them cooking-down the low-quality meat into the pet food products that would eventually leave the factory. Imagine the smell of cooking bacon if it was expired pork; that’s actually the best analogy I can guess of to account for the strangeness of it. Nowadays I simply hate being able to smell various smells around our condo if I’m not neurotically sanitizing every single surface on a yearly basis. I will notice the shower starting to develop mildew when our partner insists that he can detect really nothing with his nose. But when the bathroom smells got worse even as I kept re-cleaning the interior, I decided to call a plumbing service to get a hour opinion. After doing an inspection on our entire plumbing system, the plumber commanded that the two of us get our pipes and drains cleaned throughout the house. He had a snake with a camera on the end and took photographs of the insides of our plumbing plan to show us all of the algae and microbial buildup. He said that whenever a bit of air is able to “burp” back up the pipeline, it is likely adding smell to our indoor air. I wasn’t glad to pay for the pipe and drain cleaning service however it really removed the smells that the two of us were noticing inside our condo at various times of the day.
