Broken wireless thermostat, my house is freezing.

The mechanic recommended I install a propane boiler instead, which lasts longer though the installation fee was a bit higher

It is the 2nd day of winter and my house is freezing. I have just arrived from a business trip to find temperatures in my house literally below the freezing point. It was half-past 10 pm, past curfew. No one was coming to help because everyone, apart from the essential workers, was locked up in their houses due to Covid-19. I needed to gather my blankets and duvets to keep me warm through this cold night. Good thing I had a “random” thought to buy a mattress warmer at the airport. The wireless thermostat readings, however, do not match the actual temperature all over the house. Before I slept, I made a mental note to call the air conditioning technician first thing the following morning. Perhaps it is the hot water boiler that has malfunctioned or is it the heating and cooling equipment that need to be replaced or does the entire system need air conditioning repair service, I thought to myself as I drifted off to a light slumber. The building owner had installed new HVAC systems 2 years ago when he bought the building, luckily, very few parts needed to be replaced including the washable filter and the air purifier which I could purchase from the local air conditioning supplier. Nonetheless, the system needed HVAC maintenance as well as thorough air duct cleaning. The freezing temperatures were because the oil used by the oil furnace had run out. The mechanic recommended I install a propane boiler instead, which lasts longer though the installation fee was a bit higher. By the end of the week, I had a functioning quality air conditioner that regulated cool and warm air all over the house. I was happy to be back in my warm house.
