In the afternoon, I received a phone call from one of the guys working on the truck. When they attempted to lower the suspension, they found some other problems with the truck that needed to be addressed right away. These issues were mechanical and not cosmetic. The shocks and the struts needed to be replaced. I also needed brand new brake shoes, pads, and calipers. The extra work had to be done before the cosmetic changes. I didn’t have the money to pay for all of the repairs, but the owner agreed to help me out with a payment plan if I could come up with $500 down on all of the repairs and changes that needed to be made. I waited until my next paycheck and then I gave the owner some money. My car will be in the shop for a week while they make the changes and repairs.

Being gone for a few years absolutely opens my eyes to the passage of time while I am back here going to see the states.

I am planning on coming back to visit once every several weeks so that I can affix with family and friends more often and not lose touch. I have a local contractor friend who died while I was away and I will never get to talk with him again, which is absolutely concerning because the two of us had a fight that I wanted to smooth out between us. He taught himself and others a lot about the heating, ventilation, and A/C industry and how to repair gas heating systems and cooling systems and I wanted to tell him how much I care about everything he did for myself and others over the years, however I will never get to tell him anything now. I believe this teaches myself and others a lesson to not hold grudges with people because you never suppose when they won’t be around anymore to make things better. Maybe I’ll go visit the local business, where my friend worked, to talk to the other employees about him and get some closure as to why he died so hastily before I had an opportunity to talk to him. I may buy some HEPA filters from them to support his company and workers instead of buying it online to enjoy what I was planning on doing. Life also has a way of teaching us the taxing lessons I guess.

Right after graduating college with a major in business, I was sure that I wanted to travel abroad. Wherever my business ventures took me, I knew that it would be all over the world. I got very homesick, and I decided it was finally time to put some roots down back home where my parents lived. My parents were ecstatic that I was returning to my hometown, and they offered to put me up until such time as I could purchase my own home. My uncle was also very supportive. He offered me a job at his HVAC company. His HVAC company is rather large, and takes care of both commercial and residential jobs for his customers. He decided to hire me for a managerial position because he trusted my leadership skills. Ultimately, he put me in charge of customer satisfaction. This included making sure that our employees were doing the best possible job for the customer, taking any questions that the customer had, and collecting feedback from their experience. Steadily, our reviews got more and more positive. I also worked with my uncle on improving our employees morale and giving them the support and benefits they needed to give us the best possible job performance. Ultimately, my uncle’s HVAC business has become very successful and we have received thousands of glowing positive reviews from many satisfied customers!
